‘Glee’ season 5 spoilers: What’s next with Lea Michele’s Rachel, ‘Funny Girl’?

While “Glee” season 5 has not exactly hit us over the head so far this year with the “Funny Girl” story, you have at least slowly gotten the sense that this is something that will be carried on through the rest of the episodes ahead. After all, this is the dream come true for Rachel Berry, and she will do almost everything that she can in order to keep the part and impress in it.

But is there some trouble on the horizon? If nothing else, there is going to be an audition that the producers are showing us for whatever reason. According to E! News, there will be a character featured in episode 9 that is going to be auditioning for the show. The twist? They are going to do an absolutely awful job at it. There has to be some sort of obvious reason for the show highlighting this, whether it means showing an established character trying out for the role, or that the role somehow impacts Rachel in some way. Let’s just hope that this is not “Smash” 2.0 and we have to spend forever sitting here and wondering whether or not she is going to lose her spot.

The biggest issue for Rachel is going to find a way to balance doing this show with the stress of also holding down a day job, and the grief of losing Finn (who is still a major part of the show). Eventually, there are probably also going to be some other things stacked on top of it, but what we are mostly curious about is what happens if we get to the point where Rachel becomes an overnight star. how will her friends and fellow former classmates handle the news? Will there be jealousy, or a relentless amount of support? That is certianly going to be interesting to watch (much more so than watching Will twerk down the hallways of McKinley High).
