‘American Horror Story: Coven’ spoilers: Stevie Nicks to appropriately appear
The following next is going to make Lily Rabe’s “American Horror Story” character of Misty Day happy enough to start doing one of her famed spirit dances: Stevie Nicks, who she considers to be her own personal idol along with a beloved member of the witch community, is going to be stopping by for a guest appearance at some point later on in the season.
This news was first confirmed in a post on Twitter by executive producer Ryan Murphy, who unfortunately did not disclose too much in the way of details about how she will appear. The most likely scenario here is that we will see Nicks stop by as some sort of figment of Misty’s imagination, mostly because there is not really any sort of logical way to make her appear in the flesh unless you really just wanted to have some sort of stunt appearance from the legendary singer.
Nonetheless, this is a major casting coup for Ryan, who already has to be considered one of the luckiest guys in the industry courtesy of some of the people that he has managed to get on board his show. Just think about it for a minute. He’s already got the likes of Angela Bassett, Jessica Lange, Kathy Bates, Evan Peters, and Sarah Paulson all on the same program, and last season he also had James Cromwell. This is quite an impressive array of performers, and it only seems to be getting better and better from here on out. Given that the show is already coming back for a fourth season, it will get another opportunity to present some more of the same thing then in a completely separate universe.
Nicks is not entirely known for being an actress; as a matter of fact, she’s not really known for acting at all. The only appearances that she has made on scripted programs, including the short-lived “Up All Night,” have been as herself. She’ll probably be keeping that tradition going here, mostly because it would feel like a waste to cast Nicks for another other than herself when there is a superfan character in the cast.
