‘Arrow’ season 2 spoilers: Is Caity Lotz, Sarah Lance gone from the story?

More news -At the end of the excellent episode of “Arrow” season 2 that aired on The CW last night, the major revelation from Caity Lotz’s character of Sarah Lance came as she unveiled herself to her father, but then only minutes later in the story seemingly disappeared out of fear that he would not be safe so long as he knew where she was.

So is the Canary’s work in Starling City really done now? The safe answer for that is no, given that Lotz herself tells TVLine that she has been in every episode since her arrival on the show. This means that you will at least get more flashbacks to her role on the island story, and presumably more in the present given that there are going to continue to be ways in which for her to be very valuable.

Do we necessarily imagine her playing a big role in the plot next week? Not really, since that seems to be something a little more geared around Diggle and Deadshot, as the story involves a mission to Russia, the return of Summer Glau’s character of Isobel Rochev, and much more. Moving beyond that, though, you will have the arrival of the first real superpowers into the world courtesy of Barry Allen / The Flash, which to us remains the riskiest move that the show has made … much more so than even creating a new Black Canary mythology that does not necessarily necessitate that Laurel ever takes the reigns. At this point, we almost prefer seeing Sarah in the role given that it suits her and her background right now.

The other issue that “Arrow” will be running into soon is that they have done a great job with so many characters that it makes it harder to lose some of them … but they have to. You can’t have an overabundance of people, and there are some like Brother Blood and Adam Donner who you feel are still going to be very important before the end of this.

How much more of the Canary do you want to see, at least with Caity / Sarah in the role? Be sure to share your thoughts below!
