‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 10, episode 9 preview: Sara Ramirez’s Callie front and center

It was not that long ago that we first told you that there would be a “Grey’s Anatomy” episode all about Sara Ramirez and her character of Callie, and that is going to be coming for you on the new episode airing on ABC next week. “Sorry Seems to Be the Hardest Word” is an hour that is themed almost all about a trial involving the character, and also her attempts to make sense of the situation. If she goes down in flames, then suddenly the Grey-Sloan Memorial Hospital is no different than what it was a matter of a year ago.

While you can get a sense of some of the story in the promo below, the synopsis should do the trick when it comes to filling in some of the cracks:

“When an unexpected malpractice suit turns Callie’s world upside down, her supportive father (Hector Elizondo) arrives and shares an interesting secret with her. Meanwhile, through flashbacks, we learn some surprising details about Callie and Arizona’s marriage.”

This promo is entirely Callie-specific, despite having a billion things happening this week when it comes to Meredith, Cristina, April, and Matthew. Personally, we would not mind if were “Grey’s Anatomy” were to suddenly go small for a week, if for no other reason than giving us a little bit of a different look at one of the characters who has become a major fan favorite over the years. Plus, we learned long ago that Ramirez can be quite the fantastic anchor for a story if given the right opportunity to do so.
