‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 5, episode 6 spoilers: Nina Dobrev, Paul Wesley surprises

The latest -For this article on “The Vampire Diaries,” we are not even talking about Dobrev and Wesley’s more popular characters in Elena and Stefan. Instead, we are referring to the pair of Katherine and Silas that have both been around much longer, but are ironically being put in a situation on Thursday night where their lives are in far more jeopardy than anyone else.

But what is going to happen to them next is rather unexpected, or perhaps not that unexpected at all when you consider the traditional trajectory for this show. According to TV Guide, Katherine is going to learn that as a result of getting her blood drained, something is going to happen to her that she did not see coming in hundreds of years. (We can say that about this character and mean it; doesn’t that feel nice?) Meanwhile, you also have Silas learning that his goal of dying is not going to be so easy as he was hoping for. It’s not often that you have any character with this “goal,” but isn’t that what makes the show special?

“The Vampire Diaries” is a show that thrives on shocks and surprises, at least in addition to all of the character relationships that people tune in for time and time again. This is why you have reason to be stoked for the scoop above, mostly because there is practically a guarantee that nothing that is being revealed now is altogether permanent, and there could be a bigger, better twist later to swallow it whole. It is almost like each season has its own sort of food-chain-like plot where it just devoured by the next one leading up to some spectacular finale, which leaves you with some sort of giant cliffhanger as the predator dies off.
