‘The Good Wife’ season 5, episode 7 preview: Nathan Lane returns, and Will’s tough case
“The Good Wife” has already had what may be its most-dramatic moment of the fall, and it is courtesy of the meltdown that Will had the moment that he realized that Alicia Florrick was no longer on his side. Not only that, but she and Cary are going off to start a firm of their own.
So what are we going to be seeing coming now that the dust is finally beginning to settle? Basically, it goes along the lines of Will realizing that some of Alicia’s clients are not going to be so easy to take on. She may not be particularly agreeable to everyone all of the time, but she is very skilled and competent at what she does for a living … so much so than even another legal mastermind would struggle with some of what she does.
The episode airing next week is (fittingly) titled “The Next Week,” and the attached synopsis gives you a little more of an idea what to expect:
“Alicia and Cary suspect that Lockhart/Gardner is spying on them when Zach discovers that the webcam on Alicia’s computer is being accessed remotely. Meanwhile, Will takes on more than he anticipated when he comes to the aid of one of Alicia’s old clients, and Clarke Hayden returns to offer financial advice to Florrick/Agos.”
Eventually, we do still wonder when the moment is going to come when Alicia and Will finally start to find their peace. Neither one of these people hate each other (they would not be hooking up if that were the case), but they do clearly have some major problems that they have to sort through. We have always felt like their relationship was much more of a marathon than a sprint, and the latest actions of the two of them really tend to just validate this all the further.
There are only a few more episodes left until the hiatus, and until that point, it’s fair to say that there will be plenty of craziness ahead.
