‘Cougar Town’ season 5 sets January 7 premiere date

Cougar Town -For fans of cul-de-sacs everywhere, “Cougar Town” remains the little engine that could. It started its run on ABC years ago with a name so bad, even creator Bill Lawrence admits to it. It also had a premise that took a little bit of time to find its footing. Bit since that time, it has managed to evolve into quite the fan favorite, to the point where viewers flocked to it on TBS and the network picked it up for a season 5.

So when is the new season starting up? According to Entertainment Weekly, the date that you are looking for here is Tuesday, January 7 at 10:00 p.m. Eastern time. This is the perfect time in our mind for the show to start back when you think about it. Many regular shows on the networks will be in repeats, and by the time that the February sweeps roll around, folks may already be hooked. “Cougar Town” also has going for it that devoted following, who will be around almost no matter what.

Early 2014 is turning out to be a big time for TBS, especially when you consider that they also have “King of the Nerds” season 2 waiting to get a release date. If they keep it lined up around the same time in which they aired it this year, you should not have to wait too long for a premiere to be announced. (We covered this show all of last season, and we look forward to doing it yet again.)

As for if “Cougar Town” will get a season 6, we would honestly be surprised if it didn’t. Most stars traditionally sign on to do six seasons of a show at the beginning, and this would give it just as long of a run on TBS (at least in terms of seasons) as it had on ABC. While there are such things as surprises all the time in television production, it would be a pretty odd move for TBS to put forth so much effort in getting the show, only to then get rid of it after just two seasons.
