NBC’s ‘Revolution’ season 2, episode 7 preview: What comes next for Rachel’s father?

Revolution -There were two major surprises when it came to Wednesday night’s “Revolution” season 2 episode. Not only did we see that Monroe’s “execution” was really not resolved at all over the course of the episode, but we also learned over the course of the night’s events that the Mole was none other than Rachel’s father. This is a man that we thought was someone completely different: Loving, kind, supportive, and also concerned about Rachel. With this one little move, he has managed to re-establish himself as a perfect addition to what is a complicated and messed-up family.

Next week’s episode does carry with it a pretty bizarre title in “The Patriot Act,” and the official description that NBC released is pretty vague when it comes to both his future and that of Monroe:

“When Rachel (Elizabeth Mitchell) discovers some unsettling truths, Miles (Billy Burke) does what he does best to overcome obstacles before him and those he cares about. Meanwhile, Charlie (Tracy Spiridakos) shares a moment with her mom as Neville (Giancarlo Esposito) and Jason (JD Pardo) continue with their struggles between father and son.”

There is a shot in the promo of the Monroe character, which you can take as some sort of evidence that he is alive. Is it possible that this is just some sort of twisted flashback? Sure, but we imagine that NBC would be targeted with some pretty horrible criticism if they were for whatever reason to be misleading folks on this level. But in between the grave scene with Rachel and this preview, it feels pretty easy to figure out that the show is not letting David Lyons go just yet. What is a little more interesting is what sort of Patriot games (pun intended) are being planned now, and how all of this is going to play into the rest of the season.

The only thing that we can say for now with confidence? That Aaron appears to be screwed in the worst way, as he is one of the few with something special to offer.
