‘NCIS’ season 11, episode 7 preview: Does Mark Harmon’s Gibbs have reason to worry?

More news -On next week’s “NCIS” season 11 episode, we are going to see the return of Jackson Gibbs to the show, but also a mission that makes us wonder whether or not he is going to be okay to make it through the show without any problems. There is one part of the promo below for “Better Angels” that has us worried when it comes to his fate, as Mark Harmon’s Agent Gibbs gets a troubling phone call about his dad’s state.

This is not going to be the only part of the episode worth checking out. As the official synopsis from CBS teases (which you may or may not have previously seen), there is also going to be some tension when it comes to the Tony / Gibbs front:

“After Gibbs leaves mid-case to help his father reconnect with a former war pilot, Tony and McGee argue over who should run lead on the team’s investigation into the murder of a Marine Sergeant.”

We just wish that the promo gave us more of a sense of what is actually happening with the McGee / Tony story, which we are assuming is going to be a little more comedic in tone. Anytime that you have a major dramatic story in the November sweeps, which is what we are going to get with Gibbs this week, you have to balance that out with something funny. Michael Weatherly is great at knocking out some stories that are lighter in tone and keeping the mood of the show on a certain level, and we expect it to be the same here.

This is going to be a big month on “NCIS” coming up, as we prepare to enter the Bishop era (which could be permanent), and also see the possible return of a character that could become the Big Bad for this season.
