‘New Girl’ season 3 spoilers: First photo of Damon Wayans Jr.’s Coach back with the gang
“New Girl” fans, we currently feel your pain. In case you were wondering whether or not there is a new episode airing tonight, there is not. However, it may not be for the reasons you would at first think. Thanks to the presence of an “X Factor” live show, which is being bumped thanks to the typical excuse in baseball, the Fox comedy is not going to be on the air.
But, at least there is something great worth looking forward to the very next week: Coach! Any longtime fans of Damon Wayans Jr. should appreciate the chance to see the man again on the small screen in a role that, quite frankly, he would have been playing full-time were it not for a little something in “Happy Endings” that took him away. Thanks to the ABC series getting canceled, he has a chance to join his former “Let’s Be Cops” co-star Jake Johnson for a few episodes on the show this fall, and this one will be the one that really kicks off the craziness.
What we know for now about Coach’s return is that there is a spot open at the loft thanks to Schmidt moving into another nearby apartment, and thus Coach comes back after finding himself in need of a new place. This means that we will have an opportunity to learn just what the guy has been up to over the last little while, and also how long it is going to take him to mesh with the rest of the guys again. (Personally, we don’t think that this will take very long at all.) The only major hurdle that he will need to take on is Winston, and that is mostly because he has not been around to witness the bonding that he has had with Schmidt and Nick in his stead. For those curious, we’re also going to find out out some more news on Winston’s past soon, including how he ended up leaving his job as a professional basketball player in Europe.
