‘The Mentalist’ season 6, episode 6 preview: The Red John suspects, all in one room

For six years, you have wondered who is Red John on “The Mentalist.” Luckily, we are now very close to figuring out just who this nefarious villain really is. Next week’s new episode “Fire and Brimstone” is going to be integral to finally closing the door on the caper, and unmasking the man who has survived for so long behind a mask (and not to mention blood in a certain pattern).

Tonight, we learned that there is one obvious trait to Red John courtesy of the latest person that was killed: They have a tattoo on their left arm of three dots. So what better way to try and figure out who the man really is just by rounding everyone up? That is precisely what he is going to do, as evidenced first of all by the synopsis below:

“With the final clue in hand, Jane attempts to gather the remaining Red John suspects in one place in hopes of finally revealing his identity.”

Unfortunately, this is going to be much more complicated for Simon Baker’s character than just rounding up the suspects; there is going to be an interrogation that takes place here that at one point actually turns violent. Jane is going to get at so desperate to solve this case that he will literally pull a gun on all of the suspects in a room. We imagine at some point there will be an instance of getting everyone to roll up their sleeves to look for the tattoo. Now imagine if it turns out that more than one of them has the same tattoo (which seems to be a pretty stupid one to get in the first place); what in the world will he do then?

The biggest reason to be concerned is the explosion that we see in the promo, and also the look of concern that Lisbon has on her face. We’re going to hope that this is a sign that she cares about Jane as more than just a partner, which is hopefully something that will be addressed after the killer is caught.
