‘The Walking Dead’ season 4, episode 4 preview: Can we move past what Carol did?

Walking Dead -Somehow, someway, “The Walking Dead” has managed making the past three episodes even more miserable than most past seasons, and we’re saying that with the thought in mind that things actually seemed peaceful at the start of season 4.

Ironically, next week’s episode is entitled “Indifference,” and we have a hard time feeling that emotional at all given the reveal that not only was Carol a killer, but Rick did not seem altogether upset about it at all. This show has somehow found a way to become even more depressing, and outside of Norman Reedus with a crossbow, there is really not that much in the promo below that is actually going to make you smile. It also does not really give away too much, except for the promise of more action sequences, Rick with a gun, and a search that could go completely awry.

In continuing down this trail of mystery, be sure to also look at the not-so-revealing synopsis below via AMC:

“The supply mission faces hurdles; the situation at the prison worsens.”

What we imagine at this point that most fans want to see is at least something that resembles a glimmer of hope. With saying this, we are not just saying that we want to see there suddenly be a cure for the zombie virus or anything else that is completely out of line with the tone of this show. We just want to see something to give these people hope that they can function again, much like the initial society that was set up at the prison. There has to be something to build towards, and right now it feels like death is the best-case scenario rather than staying alive in this world … especially given that things are only going to get worse here on out. Remember, there is still The Governor to contend with sooner or later. (David Morrissey’s work here is far from done.)
