‘Downton Abbey’ season 4, episode 6 preview: What’s next for Laura Carmichael, Brendan Coyle

Take a look -Tonight on “Downton Abbey,” we had a very important revelation when it came to the storyline regarding Bates and Anna: He now knows what happened to her at the party, but does that mean that the story is now over? Tragically, no; as a matter of fact he now may be motivated more than ever to try and figure out the truth surrounding what really happened, and to bring “justice” seemingly for himself more so than anyone else. This is not great news for Anna, who now has to deal with the fear of losing Bates forever, and we still do not understand why the police just are not brought in over this instead. (Spoilers ahead!)

In a promo video that aired after tonight’s episode (which we will have here soon), Bates informs Anna that this is not going to be left in the past, since he still has a mystery that he is very eager to solve. That’s not great news for her, since she realizes that sooner or later, the information may come out that Mr. Green was not present during the opera performance.

Meanwhile, there is also some other stunning news to still take place as Lady Edith searches for Michael, and it will feel like the world for Laura Carmichael’s character is now starting to fall apart. Just when it looked like she could finally have some happiness, the walls could come crumbling down just like they did with Sir Anthony last year.

One final teaser here regarding the Mary storyline. The last that we saw of the character, she was going to receive a new suitor via Charles Blake, a man who is arriving to the Abbey thanks to the old family friend in Evelyn. This could in turn lead to him pursuing her, but there is another important question to ask: Is she really going to be interested in him? Lord Gillingham appears to be the only man that she really wants to be with at present, but she still turned him away after he proposed thanks to her lingering feelings for Matthew. Love, especially on a show such as this one, is a very complicated thing.
