‘NCIS’ season 11 spoilers: Michael Weatherly shares photo of Emily Wickersham
Do you want to see a first look of Bishop on “NCIS” season 11? Well, for the time being, a look at half of her face via Michael Weatherly may have to suffice. The actor posted the attached photo on his Twitter account, and it shows Emily Wickershaw’s character from the eyes up … and that’s all she wrote. For all that the show has teased about other developments this season, they have been rather shy about showing off the Bishop character.
So what can we say about her for the time being? Quite a few things. She is set to bring a much different energy to the show, and despite her being in some ways a successor to Ziva David as a cast member, she is not a replacement for Cote de Pablo by any means. Don’t expect her to have anywhere near the same relationship with Agent DiNozzo that Ziva did, or for her to be nearly as deadly or capable in that regard. A better comparison for her may be McGee, but there are also some differences between her and Sean Murray’s character.
You will be seeing the Bishop character by the time the November sweeps roll around, and for Gary Glasberg and the rest of the “NCIS” team, there is one question that still remains unanswered: Will she be promoted to series regular before her first episode airs? There are two schools of thought on this:
1. In promoting her early, CBS and the show would give her the confidence that she is clearly doing a good job with the role and should be rather happy with the performance that she is giving. “The Mentalist” did this, as they promoted Rockmond Dunbar to series regular before his first appearance.
2. Meanwhile, holding off until after her first episode would be evidence that the producers are really looking to gauge fan reaction. This is something that happened with Amber Tamblyn on “Two and a Half Men” earlier this season.

I have been a fan of the show since the very first episode aired. Its a fantastic show. And I really feel the core cast (Mark Harmon, Pauley Perette, David McCallum, and Sean Murray) deserve a lot of credit for that. Even though Sean came on later. I am sure Ms. Wickersham is a good actress and I do look forward to her story arc…you got to love a new story arc. And I am sure Bishop will be a lovely character. However I am of the Mind set at the moment that they need to leave the cast as is. I have rather enjoyed the last few episodes and I feel the cast and writers have really stepped up and done a stellar job and I would like to see more episodes like these. There is no need to “fill the desk” so to speak. I liked the character of Ziva…even though the minor inconsistences in the writing of her character did grate on me at times. But overall I liked the character of Ziva and liked the Tony and Ziva sub story that seemed to go on. But if they choose to replace her doesn’t mean I will like the show any less. I mean they immediately replaced Kate. But I would like to see more screen time for the characters we already have, instead of them taking air time away due to adding a character. That is all.

Didn’t mean to leave Michael Weatherly out of that core cast. He is my favorite actor on the show and one of the main reasons I’ve stuck with it. He does a great job.

I think Ms. Wickersham is a terrific person and actress but as a “Tiva” fan I think like McGee said “But, we don’t need anyone else, boss. And we don’t want anyone either.” Ziva was there for 8 years and promoting Bishop to a series regular ignoring the fans would be a BIG mistake!

I wish Ms. Wickersham great luck and hope that she is a good fit. I hope that CdP’s fans will not be hard on her. She had nothing to do with Ms. de Pablo’s decision to leave so she doesn’t need to be punished because fans are upset that CdP left. I for one am hoping that the new character, and how she changes the dynamic helps the writers get out of their rut for all the characters. I’ve enjoyed the last couple episodes more than the last several seasons because Ziva grated on my nerves and she was on screen and pushed forward constantly.

Ziva is not coming back. The actress has moved on. As much as I DO NOT LIKE this fact we all need to come to terms. Would you rather have the entire show collapse because one character (however much we miss what she brought to the show) is gone? They need to react and evolve from this new reality.

Ms. Wickersham is beautiful and I’m sure a great actress, but we don’t want Bishop long term, we want Ziva back. And promoting her to series regular before her first episode even airs would be RIDICULOUS and would prove even more that the people in charge don’t actually care about the fans opinion.
