‘Glee’ season 5 spoilers: Amber Riley on series ending, dancing with Derek Hough (video)
The news is now official that “Glee” will give its final performance in the spring of 2015, and we will be without a show on TV that has become more than just a phenomenon. During its heyday, this was a show that drew huge ratings in America, had a following all around the world, and even got a concert film made about it. Now, the show is a little more of a contributor in Fox’s lineup, and while it still has its fans, the turning point seemed to be when showrunner Ryan Murphy split the characters up into two separate worlds, and introduced a bunch of new characters that the world was somewhat less-than-enthused about.
So what does one of the show’s original cast members have to say about this change? While Amber Riley is no longer a series regular, she has appeared this season already as Mercedes. In addition to that, she said the following to Arsenio Hall on his talk show this week about just what this crazy experience has meant to her and her career:
“It’s been a couple of years, and it’s been a really good run. Glee‘s been an amazing blessing in my life, and to so many other people…I’m sure everybody can attest to a story, or a character they love, or something that really touched their heart, so I was really blessed to be a part of that for so many years.”
Amber also does talk about “Dancing with the Stars” in the interview, which is something that she is currently doing extremely well at. (As a matter of fact, we currently have her pegged as the favorite to win the entire competition.) She and Derek Hough have been working hard at this for a long time now this fall, and there is hardly a reason to think that she won’t be able to keep this up long-term and dominate the entire competition from start to finish. The biggest challenge is just getting through these middle weeks, where people can at times forget to vote.
