‘Once Upon a Time’ season 3 preview: Through the (enchanted) looking glass
One of the many reasons to be excited about “Once Upon a Time in Wonderland” as a series is the way in which some of these characters are tied in to the original show, but in a way that doesn’t ruin the viewing experience for newbies. Basically, it’s an opportunity for longtime fans to get that much more enjoyment when you hear something like Robin Hood and his Merry Men mentioned, or the name “Maleficent,” who has not been featured too much at all on the flagship show as of late thanks in part to the extremely busy / crazy schedule of Kristen Bauer van Straten. Will there be other names mentioned? Definitely, as you push further along into the story.
Well, next week a score of familiar faces are at least going to be mentioned in an episode entitled “Forget Me Not.” Before you do anything else, just take a look at the full synopsis below via ABC:
“In a flashback, viewers are introduced to Will Scarlet, who turns out to be the nifty Knave of Hearts. Will has joined Robin Hood’s Merry Men and convinces them to steal gold from Maleficent’s castle before also pilfering an enchanted looking glass for himself that comes with a hefty consequence. Meanwhile in Wonderland, Cyrus successfully tricks Jafar and the Red Queen into sending a Bandersnatch after Alice who in turn exposes something the White Rabbit has been secretly hiding.”
Sound exciting? We know that the White Rabbit has completely sold Alice and the genie bottle down the river to the Red Queen, and we expect the fall out from that to be pretty ugly. At least the show is trying to encourage imagination, and that has made it quite a bit of an impact on us as a viewer.
