‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 10, episode 5 preview: A scene all about Jo, Alex, and his dad (video)

Is Alex going to reveal the truth to his father on “Grey’s Anatomy” about who he really is? That is the source of drama in the latest sneak peek from Sunday night’s all-new episode that we have for you below.

As you may recall from last week’s episode, Justin Chambers’ character made a pretty major revelation when he saw an old junkie who was admitted to the hospital: The guy looked like his father would, and after testing the DNA, the sad truth dawned upon him. As Alex says himself, the last time he saw the man, he punched him in the face. It’s not exactly the sort of stuff that makes for a happy reunion.

But as Jo tells him, maybe he’s changed! After all, he is being funny and lighthearted around her. Of course, there are a couple of reasons for that:

1. He has no idea who she is, and seems to just be a kind of flirty guy.

2. This is the sort of way that many guys would act in this sort of position: Overly complimentary to mask all of the horrible things that they have done. There’s no way that this guy doesn’t have some regret in his heart of hearts, but we see the odds being low that he actually tries to show it in a way that is meaningful to Alex.

Regardless of how this story ends, expect it to be emotional. Also, expect it to be one of the most difficult tests for the Jo / Alex relationship as this is something that to him is real, and he’s not desensitized to it in the way that he may be treating patients. Whether he wants to admit it or not, it’s going to get to him and he needs someone at his side to help through it all.
