On tonight’s new episode of “The Big Bang Theory,” your mind is going to be blown. In what way are we speaking here? Think the long the lines of having a longtime beloved film be completely ruined before your very eyes.
In case you haven’t see “Raiders of the Lost Ark” (which we highly recommend you do), the film is widely considered to be one of the best action movies of all time. What we did not quite realize until Amy Farrah Fowler pointed it out in the video below is that regardless of whether or not Indiana Jones was in the movie at all, the ending would have been the same. Therefore, what you saw was a story that was in the end pretty useless … save for watching the face-melting action.
The moment that Amy informs Sheldon of this, it is basically the equivalent of someone telling him that ‘Alphas” is canceled, or that Spock isn’t real. He just can’t take having one of his favorite all-time films ruined in such a way! So is he going to handle this in any sort of rational way? Given that this is Sheldon that we are talking about here, of course he’s not going to… he’s not going to take this very well at all.
So instead of trying to react to this news normally, what Sheldon is going to do instead is try to find a way, as some sort of tit-for-tat strategy, to ruin something that Amy loves as if she did this to him intentionally. Hilarity could ensue, with the emphasis on “could.” The thing about “The Big Bang Theory” is that sometimes, the stories do go out with a whimper rather than a bang.
