‘Arrow’ season 2, episode 1 preview: Stephen Amell, Summer Glau, and gunfire

In the video below, you can see a new sneak peek featuring Oliver Queen’s latest “business transaction,” which we have to say gets very rudely interrupted by a group of men who clearly just want to cause chaos … and to possibly also give him a taste of his own medicine.

There is one line in here that you are almost sure to be very familiar with already: “You have failed this city.” After all, that is the same exact line that we have heard time and time again from Stephen Amell over the past year right before he took the bad guy down. This year, he is apparently thought of as the bad guy in what is an especially cruel twist. In a meeting with his team and Isobel Rochev (Summer Glau), his office is basically locked down and gunfire starts to reign in from these hooded strangers.

But … Oliver to the rescue! Reminding us almost immediately of why we love this show so much, he manages to save Felicity while Diggle seems to have Rochev taken care of. At the end of the peek, Felicity and Oliver share a little bit of a moment that reminds you yet again why so any people ship them. This year, the writers and producers seem more aware of that than ever before … even if they may or may not actually ever hook up.
