‘Saturday Night Live’ preview: Bruce Willis, Cecily Strong star in first promo

More news -How do you officially know that you’ve “made it” on “Saturday Night Live”? The simple answer is when they actually let you star in one of the promos for the show. Last year, this is a role that frequently featured Jason Sudeikis, Bill Hader, and Fred Armisen prior to their exits from the show, and now in just her second year of being a cast member, Cecily Strong has an opportunity to take this out for a test drive.

In the end, her series of clips here with Bruce Willis are rather funny, including one where she talks really loud, and tries to give Bruce suggestions for future “Die Hard” movies, and then also gets him to try and romantically hold her while saving her from a building. Bruce is seemingly game for all of it, which to us seems like it will make for a good episode.

But is Bruce really going to capture the public’s attention in the same way as Miley Cyrus? Probably not, and with this being the third week in a row that the show has been on the air, we always wonder if the good bits have already been used up. But Willis is a naturally-funny guy, and we will always go back to his time on “Friends” as proof that when you surround him with the right people, he can be great. Of course, “SNL” is a little bit of a different machine in that you’re going to get a few terrible sketches; it’s just the nature of the beast, and that’s something you have to be prepared for.

With all of this being said, what do you think about the “SNL” promo below, and are you excited to see what Bruce brings to the table? Click here if you do want to read our review of Miley’s show, and we will have some more news for you soon.
