Before Sunday night’s new episode of “The Mentalist” arrives, who is ready for some more mystery concerning the CBS hit? In this article today, we are writing in the context of a mystery coming up that is going to put some more innocent lives in danger … and probably cause Patrick Jane to remember yet again that it is never a good idea to do anything to throw suspicion on people who aren’t exactly suspects yet.
On the fourth episode of this season, entitled “Red Listed,” you will get an opportunity to see exactly what we are talking about. As the official synopsis from CBS shows, an attempt to try and hide the real suspects of Red John goes south faster than geese in the winter when information falls into the wrong hands:
“Jane reveals that a list of fake Red John suspects he planted was stolen, and the team realizes these men are in danger.”
This is very much a perfect time to panic. What makes Red John a compelling villain for both Jane and this show is that he’s not just an ordinary serial killer; he’s one that Jane feels a certain level of responsibility for after the last several seasons of being unable to really catch the guy and deliver justice. Every death that comes is therefore something that he blames himself for, and that is not going to stop until the capture happens.
But have no fear, impatient-types: This moment is coming before you open your holiday gifts. We just hope that it meets your expectations, since otherwise it’s going to put you in a particularly sour mood at a time when you are trying to do the rest of your holiday shopping.
