‘Supernatural’ season 9, episode 1 preview: Jensen Ackles’ plea to Misha Collins’ Castiel (video)

You’ve waited to for quite a long time to see the return of “Supernatural” to TV, and on Tuesday night the waiting is finally over! The beloved CW sensation will be back on the air with all-new episodes, and hopefully a story that will have you buzzing with excitement.

So what is this first story going to be focused on? As seen in the video below, Dean (Jensen Ackles) is going to be desperately sending out a prayer, hoping that Castiel (Misha Collins) will hear it and be able to come to his aid. Why? Sam (Jared Padalecki) is ailing badly following everything that happened at the end of last season, and is understandably going to need a little bit of a helping hand. Dean suspects that there is some tension there between himself and Castiel, and he seems to take that as the reason for why he is not getting an answer. Therefore, he quickly turns his attention to any angel in the near vicinity.

Is this a bad move? You can count on it, given that there is going to be a very different sort of angel that answers the call. As for why Castiel didn’t, the answer to that is that he is physiologically quite a bit different from the angel that the characters used to know. He’s now completely in the dark about prayers, since he can’t hear them and is fully human. He is going to have to find a different way in which to be of use, and we assume that will be a challenge for him.
