‘Wilfred’ season 4 official … but will air final season on FXX

The latest -We have been hard on FXX as a network ever since its launch, mostly because of the way that cable packages are handling it. Given that the show used to be on the Fox Soccer Channel, many still have it located there in a sports package. Therefore, it’s not the easiest for many buyers to pick up just for one channel. Do we expect this to be corrected soon? Sure, but that is something that has been a mild holdup based on some of the comments we’ve seen.

As for how this impacts what we’re talking about here, it’s simple: FX has renewed “Wilfred” for its fourth and final season, but it is going to be moving over to this new network, which is meant for younger viewers and also contains “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” as well as “The League.” Some who have the network already won’t be too angry, but as for the others who now have to pick it up? We imagine that there is probably going to be a much different reaction that they have to this.

For those who are complaining about the show’s move, though, allow us to say this: Be grateful for FXX, since the ratings for “Wilfred” were questionable enough this year that the show was not really a lock to be renewed on the flagship network. At least this way there is some sort of proper opportunity for the show to actually end on its own terms. Not all cable shows get that chance.

What do you think about the “Wilfred” renewal, and are you upset one way or another over the show moving over to FXX? Be sure to share some of your thoughts below! Stay tuned, as we are going to have some more news about other shows on the network soon.
