‘Glee’ season 5 spoilers: The latest new faces for McKinley, New York City
At this point, there is almost no question as to which universe on “Glee” is more interesting. At McKinley High, you have more stories about mean-girl cheerleaders and Will trying to encourage the New Directions to form a “dynasty.” Meanwhile, the New York storyline currently has the likes of Demi Lovato and Adam Lambert coming up as guest stars, not to mention a Broadway diner and NYADA. It is clearly the much more exciting of the two universes, and with that, it only seems appropriate that they have the much more interesting of the two guest stars coming up in episode five.
This casting intel comes courtesy of E! News, and it probably says more about characters currently on the show than it does the actual guest stars.
Louis – A “cool” tattoo artist, which is typically what most people think about tattoo artists when they are around 12 and think that all of them are edgy and awesome. Really, it’s a much smaller percentage of them. This guy is in New York, and so we have to ask the question: Who is getting inked up? Rachel is an interesting idea, since Lea Michele already does have a number of tattoos in real life.
Robbie – A jock sort of character at McKinley, who is going to be making life pretty difficult for one of the students. Yes, we have been down the “bully” route before and it is yawn-inducing, but at the same time you can’t blame the writers for this, since there’s only so much you can do for high school students after five years of storytelling.
If you want to take a more specific look at Tuesday’s “Tina in the Sky with Diamonds,” click here. That’s where you can hear Lea and Chris Colfer rock out to one of the performances.

I can’t wait for NYC Glee regardless (already amazing with Kurt, Rachel & Santana, plus Sarah Jessica Parker and Kate Hudson…now we get Demi Lovato & Adam Lambert! How in heaven’s name is Lima rating all of the screen/story & song time NOW-?? I would LOVE for Mike (Harry Shum & dance magic) and Mercedes (Amber Riley’s magic runs) to move to NYC. Harry could drop ballet for his true love: Broadway, where he gets to act & sing, too. Mercedes could decide to do open mic nights to promote her now-promoterless CD and try for singing gigs with Santana (River Deep, Mountain High, anyone?).
I wish they would just make it a spin-off, then I wouldn’t resent every second spent on Lima storylines, being annoyed at characters that I liked (but not as much as KRS) and resenting new characters that I might like, if they weren’t sucking screen time (Kitty and Unique are the 2 most interesting, the others are too bland & homogenous, though the performers seem fine).
Anyway, it’s nice to know that others also think that the most interesting story possibilities lie in NYC for Glee.

I can’t wait for Starchild and Dani in New York. The season sounds like it will be full of fun and good music.
