Has Oliver Queen returned to the island, and why is he shirtless and swinging from a tree like Tarzan? There are so many questions that we have after watching the latest sneak peek for the “Arrow” season 2 premiere, and we can’t wait to watch them all unfold through out the new season.
In the video below (via the Wall Street Journal), it starts off by looking as though Diggle and Felicity are visiting the island made famous from Oliver’s flashbacks (the mask appears to be proof of that), but it is not clear why. Then, we learn minutes later that Oliver is already there. He tells the two that they really should not have come, which definitely does beg the question as to why he is there. Is this is brand-new fitness training ground, or is he finishing some of what he started there? Seeing the worlds of Starling City and the Island blended together makes for some phenomenal entertainment, especially if the recent promotion of Manu Bennett to series regular means that we are going to see more of him potentially in the present-day world.
This first episode (entitled “City of Heroes”) is going to be almost a reintroduction to the Oliver universe, and also show us the direction that the character is going to go now. No longer is this a man who wants to be referred to as a vigilante. Instead, he is a man who is trying to fight for what is right, and to be known as a hero rather than someone people can’t trust.
