‘The X Factor’ UK preview: Tamera Foster looks for bootcamp redemption

The latest news -How is this for an attempted comeback? The last time that we saw her on “The X Factor” UK, Tamera Foster was saved mostly on the strength of her vocals being strong rather than her performance quality (as she forgot the words to “I Have Nothing”); now, the challenge for her becomes whether or not she can impress on both fronts on the show’s revamped bootcamp.

Based on the sneak peek that we have below from tonight’s new episode, it feels like Tamera is off to a good start. She is taking on a hard song here in Rihanna’s “Stay,” but hits most of the notes. The biggest critique we have is that she feels a little low for almost the entire song when it comes to the key that she is performing it in, but this is something that can be worked on if she ends up landing a mentor. At 16, there is potential here; but at the same time, we almost feel like she will not be someone that pulls in a ton of votes from the public. The lyric incident will be remembered, as could the first audition with her group Silver Rock that bombed.

Going into tonight’s episode, we have Abi Alton as the favorite among the girls just based on being memorable; meanwhile, Sam Bailey (who you can watch a preview for here) is our pick among the Overs, and there are many groups and boys jockeying for positions.

While the rules of the game tonight are going to be explained, it appears like we are having some sort of six-chair challenge where the contestants are singing for a spot, and the top performers will land in a chair. Yes, we do find it funny that another singing competition is doing a twist involving chairs, maybe they have chair envy?
