‘Basketball Wives’ season 5, episode 6 review: The Tasha Marbury show

The latest -

Clearly, “Basketball Wives” is not a show that will slowly usher in their newest stars into the world. Instead, they put them front and center and let them go berserk.

Monday night’s episode was a gigantic dose of a certain Tasha Marbury, almost to the point where you could end up feeling a little bit sick to your stomach afterwards. This woman was the center of attention in a big way, and we’re talking about even before the two events on the episode that revolved all around her.

First, you had the issue with Evelyn Lozada, and how she is going to be out to “help” people rather than hurt after making some jokes about a subject that Evelyn understandably finds difficult right now. We really just hope at this point that this is the end of the storyline, since we really do not imagine there being anything else that can be said about the Chad Johnson situation that is particularly useful.

Then, you had the opening of the weave bar, a pretty ridiculous concept that got even more ridiculous as soon as we ended up realizing that Tasha really did not have that much of an education about her products. Plus, her awning was misspelled and she had a mascot that was creepy at best. This was a mess in all of the ways that a mess can be.

Finally, you had the birthday party, which ended up becoming a disaster mostly because not everyone bothered to show up for it and the people that did left after sitting around for who knows how long, waiting for Tasha to show up. Tasha clearly established herself in this episode as an entertaining addition to the series, but also a severely flawed one who seems to live within her own comedy of errors. We still don’t particularly love this season, but there is plenty of time to turn it around.
