“The Big Bang Theory” season 7 is now literally only days away from the September 26 premiere, and so, there are plenty of questions as to what could be coming up this year. Save for the return of Bob Newhart and Leonard returning from his time at sea by the second episode, most of the storylines are still under wraps.
When it comes to Sheldon and Amy, what Jim Parsons would say on the Emmy red carpet last night (per TVLine) is that the couple would continue to have some developments. When it comes to Sheldon, he will feel the need to validate his relationship to the masses by talking about it more publicly … and also saying that he “spanked” her. This is once again proof that Sheldon tends to say things that nobody else wants or even needs to hear, and you also also have to remember here that Sheldon and Amy have very different reactions to that happening in the first place. One very much liked it, and as for the other? Well … you remember what happened.
If you are hoping for whatever reason to see this couple in some sort of evolved state of romance in the coming season, we imagine that this is still somewhere down the line. What we are more likely to see are some baby steps in the right direction. The biggest challenge for Sheldon early on will be getting used to having Amy around more at work, which has been a part of his refuge and his routine. The man does not like change at all, and this is a big one that impacts his day-to-day.
Of course, there is also a story that is unfolding right now behind the scenes when it comes to the contracts of Parsons and some of the other actors. While Mayim Bialik and Melissa Rauch have received raises for their work, negotiations are underway for the rest of the cast.
