‘NCIS’ season 11 spoilers: Emily Wickersham to succeed Cote de Pablo’s Ziva

The latest -Another mystery surrounding “NCIS” season 11 is now resolved: Who is going to “replace” Cote de Pablo and her character of Ziva David a little later this fall. Notice that we put the word replace in quotes for a reason, as this is not going to be the same sort of character, and we severely doubt that they will have the same sort of chemistry with Tony. It is just that they could end up filling a similar role on the cast list.

According to TVLine, Emily Wickersham, who is currently on FX’s “The Bridge” in the role of the snarky stepdaughter to the recently-widowed Charlotte, is set to appear in at least three episodes as Bishop, who you can read a little bit more about as a character here. This character will be on board the show for three more episodes, with an option for her to become a series regular down the road depending on just how the stint on the show goes.

The only major difference between this news now and the original announcement is that Bishop is going to appear a little earlier than originally planned in November, which is during the network’s key sweeps period. This gives the show a chance to test out the role, and if they don’t like what they see, there is an opportunity to bring in someone different for the new year.

While it is sad to see Cote leave the show, we will say this about the “NCIS” producers: They know the sort of love out there that exists for the Ziva character, and they are not going to plug someone else in without any thought. Therefore, we will stay as positive as possible that the new character will work, and bring a different sort of energy to the show.
