‘Supernatural’ season 9 video: More Jensen Ackles – Jared Padalecki drama in new promo
Can this upcoming season of “Supernatural” get even more exciting? We think that they may have just managed to figure out a way, and it is all courtesy of the latest sneak peek released by The CW for what lies ahead.
This video contains a little bit of footage from some videos that you have seen already, but there are also a few other welcome clips that we find exciting in here. We have Crowley getting punched in the face (something that Dean seems to very much enjoy), Castiel learning that he is very much a marked man, and Abaddon making a few more threatening comments in her attempt to take over Hell. Right now, she is clearly the closest thing to a Big Bad that we have this season, and it will be interesting to see if that changes as time progresses. (Eventually, we have to believe that Metatron is going to rear his head on the show again.)
When you consider that “Supernatural” is in its ninth season, you would think that the story would start to be losing some steam. However, we really don’t feel that way. Season 8 to us was a shot of adrenaline following what we personally feel was a pretty substandard season 7, and with Castiel a regular again and Jim Beaver coming back, we have no reason to believe that this should not combine the best of both the old and the new. Plus, Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles are going to have some more interesting avenues to explore as the Winchesters continue to question their future.

This has been one of the least exciting promos for me. I actually quite enjoy Dean and Sam and how they’re both (especially Dean) always so willing to go to bat for each other. As a big sister myself, I understand being willing to go to hell and back for my younger sibling.
However, I just hope that this brotherly love doesn’t come at the cost of them having relationships outside each other. No doubt that the brothers need each other desperately and love each other endlessly, but we all need more than just one important person in our lives. This video and other things have led me to believe that they’re not even going to be with their closest ally, Castiel, much this season and that just really saddens me. I love Sam and Dean, but I love Sam, Dean, and Cas even more.
I am really excited to see Bobby, Charlie, and Abaddon back and more than excited to see Castiel as a regular character again, but to be really honest…I’m not looking forward to the Dean risks everything to save Sam and think’s that he’s nothing without his brother stuff again. Purely because we’ve seen that before, and also because I love Dean and I want to see more character growth for him and see him develop more self-worth, along with a story-line that isn’t purely focused on his brother.

Some scenes looked really great but I gotta say, I’m sad to see such a strong character like Dean reduced to dysfunctionally clinging to his 31 year old brother. Have some self respect, dude! I thought Carver was going to have both the brothers and their relationship grow up. This is just pathetic – like something out of a tween’s starry eyed (and badly written) wincest fanfic.

Dean’s always been this way though. This is not news. This has been Dean since season 1. What’s he supposed to do anyway? Not care his brother is dying. Frankly, I find nothing immature about caring so much about someone you love. There is nothing weak about that at all. I find that sad people see love as weakness. It’s quite insulting to the character and the show. I really don’t know why you’re watching this has been how Dean is from the get go. (There’s nothing sexual about it either so I don’t get the Wincest fanfic remark)

Sam and Dean were there too you know. it seems odd to not even mention them when you title your article after the actors in a promo that largely featured them. I mean really neglecting the main characters?
