2013 Miss America pageant: Miss New York Nina Davuluri wins, Miss California Crystal Lee 2nd
At one point during tonight’s Miss America pageant when we had to listen to a contestant stand there and speak about standing by the man you married no matter what, and all while Lance Bass had a look on his face like Jabba the Hut was crawling out of her mouth, we felt just about as horrified as we were when watching tonight’s episode of “Breaking Bad.”
Basically, the way we felt after watching this “spectacular” (if you can call it that) was mostly just stunned that there were so many bizarre viewpoints out there in America. There were also quite a few of these ladies out there who, to be fair, had pretty decent talents and gave competent answers to these questions. We don’t want to be one of those people who just sits here and acts nasty towards all of the people just because it is cool. But still, there were some pretty awful answers in here.
Chris Harrison, used to dealing with throngs of people in ball gowns courtesy of “The Bachelor,” was there yet again in Atlantic City to preside over the whole event with Lara Spencer. The decision came down to (as always) five states, and we really wish that they had sashes on so that we could remember who all of them were. (The show is too short to get to know everyone!)
Without further ado, let’s just get to the final stage of this: The results.
5th place – Miss Minnesota, Rebecca Yeh
4th place – Miss Florida, Myrrhanda Jones
3rd place – Miss Oklahoma, Kelsey Griswold
2nd place – Miss California, Crystal Lee
Miss America – Miss New York, Nina Davuluri
