‘Real Housewives of New Jersey’ review: So much for peace for Melissa Gorga
As we predicted a couple of weeks ago, there was no way that things were actually going to be getting better for Teresa Giudice and Melissa Gorga on “The Real Housewives of New Jersey.” Why is that? We have learned by now that there is no reason to ever really hope for change on this show.
Basically, the summation of the drama at the center of this week’s episode is this: In a conversation with Penny, who was allegedly the mole behind the rumors that Melissa was cheating on her husband, it was “revealed” that she actually heard the news from Teresa. Basically, this all just boils down to a he-said, she-said situation, just like many of the arguments that take place on this show.
In the end, this has actually become the most frustrating entity of the franchise in so many ways. While there are moments that make us laugh and get excited, this also seems to be the most repetitive, difficult cast out of any edition of the franchise. While with some other shows you get a sense of growth, here it feels like they have been stuck on the same story for much of the past couple of years. This will be a controversial opinion, but we think that either Melissa or Teresa should have left after the third season. Since that didn’t happen, we have been dealt with two people who do not quite know just how to move on.
We don’t even know what else to say about this episode. There were some interesting moments between Teresa and Jacqueline, but it feels like painting with bright colors on a canvas, only for someone to come in and paint over them with a metallic gray. You can’t see anything else underneath.
