‘Supernatural’ season 9 spoilers: Scoop on Misha Collins’ Castiel; Jared Padalecki celebrates
To get you through this weekend, and to also get you just a little bit closer to the return of “Supernatural” with all-new episodes starting up on The CW on Tuesday, September 8, we have some fun things to help celebrate.
Let’s begin with an answer to a key question: What episodes are Misha Collins’ Castiel going to be appearing in during the early going? TVLine reports that the famed (and now fallen) angel will be turning up during the season premiere entitled “I Think I’m Gonna Like It Here” (which makes sense given that this title could very well be a reference to him), whereas the second episode, entitled “Devil May Care,” will not feature him in any form. Even though Misha is now a series regular, that is hardly a guarantee that he is going to be around for every single episode of the show.
Castiel’s story in the early going is going to revolve him trying to learn how to adapt to being an everyday human, and some of the challenges that inevitably come along with that. For example, he doesn’t know standard bodily functions, and in less-disgusting news, he will have to deal with a whole chorus of angry fallen angels who blame him for what has happened to them.
On a slightly different note, Jared Padalecki posted on Twitter yesterday that Friday marked the show’s eight-year anniversary since its premiere on … The WB. Remember that? It’s how crazy to think how far this show has come. It’s survived a number of close calls, and is the only remaining show from that network still on the air on The CW. (“America’s Next Top Model” is the only remaining program from the days of UPN.)

LOVE, absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE Misha! He deserves a HUGE film career as soon as SPN goes off. I wish good things for Jared too. But Jensen is a piece of crap homophobe who just needs to drive on down the street with his “I-Brake-For-Sarah-Palin” bumper sticker. NO THANK YOU.

I so agree with you about Misha and Jared! They are amazing and I hope for nothing but the best for both of them in SPN and beyond.
However, I can’t agree with your statement about Jensen, I’m sorry, and I can understand being upset with how he’s handled some situations in the past, but calling him a piece of crap homophobe seems to be taking it a little far, imho. I don’t know Jensen Ackles and I can’t tell you a thing about his views on homosexuality, but he has always seemed to me to be an admirable and amazing individual, just like Misha and Jared and I wish nothing but the best for him as well.
I’m sorry that you seem to be hurt at him (cause I think an attitude like that probably stems from being hurt), but please try to remember that he’s a person too, as well as an actor.
I say this as one of the biggest fans of a Dean/Cas romance ever….even if that relationship is something that Jensen is against himself (which I don’t know how he feels about it cause I don’t know him), it doesn’t automatically make him a homophobe or a bad person.

I’m so proud of the show and the awesome cast/crew and the fans that this show has survived for 8 years and soon to be 9 seasons. It says a lot about the show, everyone who contributes to making the show, and the fan-base that it has lasted this long, especially with all the close calls and it being a genre show. And not only has it lasted, but it is gaining popularity and new fans all the time! Myself and many others that I personally know have only became fans in the show in the last year…several of us have been drew into watching because of Destiel (thanks Tumblr) and Castiel and Misha Collins and upon watching fell in love with all of those things, along with Dean and Sam, and Jensen & Jared.
I was extremely happy when TVLine’s initial report was wrong (good fact checking there, TVLine) and they confirmed that Misha will be in the premiere episode for Season 1. It would be amazing if he were in every episode or almost every episode, but we definitely know that sadly isn’t the case. I do look the most forward to the episodes that have Cas in them though and am really looking forward to his season 9 story and to seeing how things change with him, Dean, and Sam as a result of him being human now.
