‘American Idol’ notes: Adam Lambert, Kellie Pickler, and Colton Dixon
We’ll kick off this addition of “American Idol” notes with something that all Adam Lambert fans frequently appreciate: New music! You may have heard a version of his song “Lay Me Down” with Avicii and Nile Rodgers at some point in the past month, but the high-quality version of the track is now online and definitely worth a listen.
This collaboration has turned out to be a big one for Adam. Rodgers (who he has worked with on a number of occasions) is hot this year for his work with Daft Punk, and Avicii which is currently shooting up the charts with another hit in “Wake Me Up.” Hopefully this song will become a single at some point, and serve as a nice little launching pad (along with his upcoming stint on “Glee”) for whatever music Adam chooses to release on his own in the coming months.
Kellie’s new album – Big news from the Kellie Pickler camp: The season 5 star and the recent “Dancing with the Stars” champion has a new album coming out in time for the holidays. Kellie tells Rolling Stone that the disc is entitled “The Woman I Am,” and will arrive in stores on Tuesday, November 12. This is her first album with new label Black River Entertainment, and we hope that it will be a great opportunity for her music to be heard by a larger audience. She’s always been under-appreciated as a talent, with much of that probably being due to the mere challenge of being a female country singer in a genre dominated by men.
Colton’s new video – Take a look below at the official video for “Never Gone,” which is Colton’s latest single. This was also the first original song from Colton that many heard, as he performed the song throughout the “American Idol” summer tour back in 2012.
Colton has quickly found a great place for himself in the Christian music world, where he and Madisa are two powerful forces to come out of the show.
As always, click here if you’re looking to check out even more news related to “American Idol.” The new season has already started to film, and will premiere in January.

Avicii said in an interview with BBC Radio that Lay Me Down is his personal favorite track, which means we can definitely see it released as a single. So thrilled to see the rave reviews of this track and Avicii’s TRUE album! It’s going to be a major hit on the dance charts for sure!

Matt: I think Lay Me Down will get a Grammy nomination if not other awards. It’s Avicii’s favorite on album. He just closed with LMD at the itunes festival in London and the crowd went nuts. It’s getting excellent reviews from bloggers and music critics. I ordered the True album just in case LMD isn’t released as a single. But I think it will be and very soon. So happy for Nile and Adam as LMD is an incredible track but with Adam’s stellar and sexy vocals and Nile’s expert guitar skills it has to be a hit. It’s #1 already in Finland and was just released there. So time will tell. I like it much better than Wake Me Up which is a good song but “folk like” rather than country.
