‘Burn Notice’ spin-off: Series creator open to idea featuring Sam, Jesse
Could there be a spin-off of “Burn Notice” coming up in the future starring Coby Bell and Bruce Campbell? It’s at least possible, but following the series finale of the flagship show that aired last year, nothing is particularly confirmed.
Speaking after the finale aired last night to TV Guide, series creator Matt Nix gave the following comment on the possible future of the franchise, noting that the ending for Sam and Jesse was at least created in a way that they could do something else if he and USA decided to make it happen. However, for the time being nothing is confirmed:
“It is something that has come up in a vague way. I’d love to do something with those characters, certainly with those actors at some point in the future. If there were an opportunity to do that with USA, I’d love that. But fans should certainly not hold their breath. Nobody’s in talks.”
The feeling that we get here is similar to the feeling that we get with another show in “Dexter” that is ending very soon. They will at least gauge the possibility of a spin-off happening in the future based on fan reaction, but it is not something like “Breaking Bad” and “Better Call Saul” where the network is already moving ahead with something that could air next year.
We should at least note here that Bruce Campbell said recently that he is open for doing more with the Sam Axe character, and we imagine that a possible TV movie is something that could come up at some point if there is not a separate series. We imagine that the story of Michael Westen is by and large done, but you never know what could happen for everyone else.

Mike, Sam, Fiona, Jesse, and Maddie were definitely characters that were brought to life on the screen and welcomed into our homes. They will be missed and if ever brought back, they will surely be welcomed by the viewers. I for one, will be hoping for a spinoff.
