‘The Vampire Diaires’ season 5 spoilers: Paul Wesley talks playing Silas (video)

What's ahead -It’s not very often where you have an article about “The Vampire Diaries” with Paul Wesley and you are not actually talking about Stefan, but that is what we have for you here: A look into what Could be coming up next for the actor’s “shadow self” in Silas when season 5 picks up.

While there are no specific spoilers in this video or talk on individual plot points, Wesley does point out here what makes Silas so fun to play as a villain: He’s not like the sort of melodramatic character that you often see on shows like these. While he is extremely old and also extremely powerful, what makes him stand out is that he’s also diabolical, witty, and charming. He has learned how to get his way with people over the years, and can be rather convincing. This will be worked to his advantage for quite a while early on, as he gets to run around Mystic Falls and try to convince everyone that he is really someone different than who he is.

But, we know already that Silas is not going to get away with playing his little game forever. Eventually, those who know Stefan best are going to find out that he is being impersonated, and the challenge then becomes trying to find a way to ensure that they are able to bring him back. Stefan’s going to be the worst time imaginable at the start of the season, drowning again and again, which is one of the many terrible things about not being able to die in any way other than one.
