‘Sons of Anarchy’ season 6, episode 1 preview: A Charlie Hunnam – Jimmy Smits scene
So far, the other two sneak peeks that we have shared for “Sons of Anarchy” season 6 have not brought on nearly the violence that the one below does. This is the first real evidence of the claims from creator Kurt Sutter and others that we are in for the most violent season of the show yet.
In this video, there are at least a few seconds in which you want to start to believe that Jax Teller is a real hero. He is basically working seemingly as a rescue agent, which we like to consider a noble cause; but then, you are quickly reminded of the brutality in which he strikes, almost like he enjoys being a part of this gritty world. This is just another symbol of the character’s descent into darkness, where he has become a threatening presence almost in the same way as Clay, a man that he never wanted to be like.
You can also catch a brief glimpse of Jimmy Smits’ Nero in here alongside Charlie Hunnam, though it is still unclear what the former’s role in this season as a whole is going to be. Smits is going to be a part of the entire season, one in which we predict that he will have more interactions with Gemma, and his partnership-of-sorts with SAMCRO will continue. For a man that appears to be so weathered, though, we are still waiting to see just how truly dark and twisted this character can become.

We’ll have a full review for the premiere up after it airs, which should be around 11:30 p.m. Eastern.
