‘NCIS: Los Angeles’ season 5 spoilers: How Sam and Deeks return to work

More scoop -During the “NCIS: Los Angeles” premiere on Tuesday, September 24, we are going to have an opportunity to see what happens to eventually cause Sam and Deeks to be released from their torture chamber-of-sorts. Given that these two are series regulars, we really don’t believe right now that there is much drama at all in wondering whether or not they are going to live. Instead, much of the questioning is going to surround how they survive, and what the long-term impact of what they went through in that dangerous time will be.

This is where we turn to the second episode of the season airing on Tuesday, October 1, and it is an hour that carries with it a more-than-appropriate name in “Impact.” CBS also just released the official synopsis for the hour, which includes both an A and a B-story:

“In an effort to help Sam and Deeks return to work, Hetty calls upon Operational Psychologist Nate Getz to help them cope with their traumatic experience. Meanwhile, the rest of the NCIS: LA team investigates the murder of a former Navy Admiral and a controversial journalist aboard a private jet.”

As for some of the other things that you could see that are not in the synopsis, expect something more with Deeks and Kensi that stems from the premiere (their story is going to be a marathon, not a race), and the story is going to build in a way that sets up a new adversary, and some unpredictable twists and turns.
