‘The Big Bang Theory’ season 7 spoilers: William Shatner extremely open to cameo

The latest -There are people who are interested in making cameos on “The Big Bang Theory,” and then there is William Shatner. This is really the sort of thing that we don’t quite understand how it has not happened already. He is basically the god of “Star Trek,” and his former co-star Leonard Nimoy has already lent his voice to the program in the past. (A star of “The Next Generation” in Wil Wheaton is a frequent guest-star on the program as well.) Plus, there is also the simple fact that Shatner is a very entertaining guy, and we have little doubt at all that most fans would eat up and appreciate the opportunity to see him in a few scenes.

Shatner and Adam West were present this weekend at Salt Lake Comic-Con, and the former responded to a question about the CBS sitcom (per the Salt Lake Tribune) with the following message:

“I promise you, I’m going back to L.A. tomorrow. Monday morning I’ll make a call, OK?”

So far in production, CBS has really been rather tight-lipped about any potential new “Big Bang Theory” guest stars. We do know that the journey is not over for Bob Newhart’s Professor Proton, as he is going to be back for another episode in the future. The only challenge with Shatner is that the only way to have him on would be for him to play himself, and then you have to write a story about it.

As for whether or not West would consider bringing some of his Batman charm to the show, he was much more coy, simply saying that he would consider it.
