NBC’s ‘Hannibal’ season 2 spoilers: Cynthia Nixon signs on as…

The latest -While “Sex and the City” and “Hannibal” are probably two of the last worlds that you ever thought you would be seeing colliding, that is exactly what is happening with the latest bit of casting intel from the NBC adaptation.

According to a report from TVLine, one of the former star of the HBO juggernaut in Cynthia Nixon will recur throughout “Hannibal” season 2 as Kade Prurnell, a woman who works at the Office of the Inspector General in FBI Oversight and will be trying to figure out whether or not Laurence Fishburne’s character of Jack Crawford is to blame for any of the events that unraveled during the show’s first season, which clearly ended with Will Graham (Hugh Dancy) in a rather compromising position.

For fans of Nixon’s work beyond just “Sex and the City,” this is surely great news. Since the HBO sarees wrapped she has done stage work along with roles on “Too Big to Fail” and “The Big C,” and she has a great feature-film resume to go along with it. “Hannibal” has a pretty expansive cast already, and the challenge for them now comes in finding more ways to remind everyone how awesome of a show this is. Ratings were not a home run for the first season in the spring, though the positive reviews and countless Twitter trending topics prove that there is a clear audience out there that will recommend the show and help to build it up during season 2.
