‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 10 spoilers: First look at Ellen Pompeo, Meredith’s new baby Bailey

When “Grey’s Anatomy” season 10 picks up on Thursday, September 26, there is going to be a lot to look forward to. There will be new couples, people single for the first time in forever, a character’s fate hanging in the balance, and two people in Callie and Arizona that are on the brink of splitsville.

But what about Meredith’s new baby? This is actually one of the few stories this season that does not have a terribly-tragic tinge to it right now. It’s pure joy of seeing someone finally have the full family that they have always wanted in between young Bailey and Zola at home. The photo attached here (per TV Guide) says it all.

However, executive producer Shonda Rhimes also cautions us to not get too blown away into thinking that Meredith is going to be instantly happy and not have any problems that come with her being a mother, and having to be at home more taking care of children:

“Meredith is juggling a lot. She’s trying to be a good mom, wife and friend, and this is the year of her attending career in which she should really be trying to make her mark. To me, this is Meredith’s lean-in season. She’s going to discover whether or not she’s interested in being that person who puts her career first.”

We figure that we will get a better sense as to the answer to that question by the end of the first few episodes of this season, and from there, we will merely see what Meredith chooses to do with her new life.
