‘Glee’ season 5: Demi Lovato talks getting gig, ‘X Factor’ USA with Simon Cowell

Demi speaks -It’s crazy to think that we are literally in the home stretch now before the fall season, and there is one reason why it feels even more so than usual that it is creeping up on us extremely quickly: The premiere of “The X Factor” literally a week from tomorrow, and it is the first of the major shows to be back on TV for the fall. There will be countless new episodes to follow, as the show hopes to find the next Fifth Harmony, Emblem3, or even a solo artist that lands in a good position on the charts.

So what does one of the judges have to say on the experience? Demi Lovato gave an interview this week to “Live! with Kelly and Michael” to promote the new season, and one of the things that she talked about was having a real-life friendship with Simon Cowell away from the panel. The two apparently are good friends even when they are not doing the show together, and she said that he has confided in her and even cried alongside her at times. One question that did not come up? Simon becoming a father for the first time under scandalous circumstances.

As for the subject of her upcoming “Glee” gig, Demi did not get into specifics about her role of Dani or working with any particular co-star in particular. However, she did say that joining the show happened in a pretty interesting manner. She first took a meeting with creator Ryan Murphy right before taking off for a trip to Africa, only to then have the contract be signed while she was overseas on a life-changing trip where she worked on giving back to those in need. Demi will appear in six episodes this year as a love interest in Naya Rivera’s Santana, and she will of course sing to go along with it.
