‘MasterChef’ USA season 4 rankings: A look at the final four contenders

The latest -On Wednesday night, “MasterChef” returns to Fox with what will be the most important episode yet by a mile: The final four cooking for their lives. Only one chef is going to emerge from this culinary clash of the titans victorious within the span of a couple of weeks, but who is the most likely to get there? That is the focus of this preview article: Ranking the final contenders!

We’re trying to base this on a few simple factors for this season, including edit (always important when the winner is selling something like a cookbook), cooking ability, and the ever-so-critical momentum.

4. Krissi Biasiello – We don’t know if “MasterChef” could stomach having a winner that a good percentage of the viewing public just doesn’t like. She has performed pretty well in the competition, but this is a show that really needs a winner that people will go out there and want to buy cookbooks from. She may make the finale, but we just can’t see her winning.

3. Jessie Lysiak – Reminds us a great deal of the winners from the first two seasons, and without a doubt a cook that America would probably get behind. While we think she could last another week or two just on the virtue of being likable, we don’t get the feeling from the edit that she will be declared the champion.

2. Natasha Crnjac – Earlier this season, we labeled her “awful” since she was not exactly winning any awards at all with her personality. We’ll back off that to an extent, but there is also a reason why there are so many who don’t like her; she’s cocky, and that always breeds polarization. However, we do at least have to say that she has been the most consistently dominant cook this season.

1. Luca Manfe – We’ll be honest here and say that we thought Luca’s ceiling was sixth place early on this season, especially after being stuck in that cook-off in Las Vegas that he narrowly won. But the truth here is with Luca that he has grown tremendously all season, is very likable, and it probably also benefits him that “MasterChef” has never had a male winner in four seasons. This is the story that viewers could really get behind the most out of the four people left.
