‘The Walking Dead’ season 4 spoilers: Andrew Lincoln on Rick’s changing focus

Andrew Lincoln -When you are on a show that features such a strong amount of violence like “The Walking Dead,” watershed moments often do not come anymore when you take down a walker or go on a killing spree. Instead, the moments that you are actually going to be talking about instead are the ones that involve other humans … including something that unfolded with Carl at the end of last season, when Rick started to realize what sort of person that his son was becoming after deciding to shoot someone who was may not have been a threat at all.

So what is Andrew Lincoln’s character going to do to occupy his time now? Rather than being the leader or the instigator of violence this year, the actor tells The Hollywood Reporter that we are going to see Rick take on a much different focus in his life:

“He’s a man that is wrestling with a motor that didn’t work last season … He’s trying to suppress the brutality for the sake of both of his children and trying to be a parent in an apocalypse and trying to return to the man he once was … [This year], he focuses his energies on something that’s completely different but is still helping the people of the community.”
