On Saturday evening in the United Kingdom, the latest season of “The X Factor” begins with the same sort of frenzied expectations that you typically see with a show like this from the British press. We have consistently found it somewhat hilarious how they contain to smack around a show that is one of the top reality shows in Britain, given that it is understandable that the ratings would decline after a decade on the air.
But, there are a few reasons to tune in to this coming season if you’ve been away from the show. The judges teased Thursday at a press junket that there are going to be some great auditions this year, including one that has Susan Boyle comparisons to it. While we doubt that almost anything will have the universal shock factor that she did after appearing on “Britain’s Got Talent,” hopefully this will still be the sort of unexpected audition that blows almost everyone in the audience away. This could be even more fun given the new twist this year, which goes back to audition rooms. The judges could know that he / she is a diamond in the rough, and then lure a live audience into a false sense of security before unleashing them on the world.
In other news … Let’s talk Cher Lloyd! One of the show’s popular former stars will debut her full single “I Wish” (officially) on “Saturday Night Online,” but before that, you can at least take a look at a preview of the song below accompanied by a video message from Cher. If you want to visit more from her, just click here.
Given that the snippet is so small, it’s hard to really pass much judgment at the moment, but we like it so far.
