ABC has taken it upon themselves to provide us with a first look at the upcoming season of “Once Upon a Time” … and it’s via text. Commence your groaning now, and it’s certainly justified given that many other shows have now released footage from their upcoming episodes. Let’s just assume that co-creators Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz have something so mind-numbing and amazing under their belts that they are somewhat cagey to release real footage.
Now, let’s get back to that official synopsis, which does something rather kind here in reminding us that there is at least something going on in a world other than Neverland:
“First order of business this season: save Henry. But Neverland is a much darker place than you remember, and in order for our heroes to accomplish their mission, they’ll have to face a foe more powerful than the Dark One himself. What does Peter Pan want with Henry? Can our heroes put aside their differences and work together? Will Aurora, Mulan and Prince Phillip be able to nurse Neal back to health and reunite him with his family? New fairytale characters will be revealed and old acquaintances will be revisited. So think of a wonderful thought… because our Neverland’s going to be a fever dream that just won’t break.”
With all of this being said, just how much do we have to beg to get some sort of recognition that Storybrooke and Belle are still out there? We know that neither will apparently be forgotten, but we’ve heard about as much about them the past few weeks as we’ve heard about Bigfoot being real. Translation? We’ve heard nothing at all, and it is very frustrating.
