‘American Horror Story: Coven’ spoilers: FX finally releases details on the story

The latest -Despite being very deep into production at this point, there have still not been very many opportunities for us to get to see much in the way of information on “American Horror Story: Coven” … at least until now.

Today, FX decided to released to finally release some details when it comes to the story, and it includes some hints about a line of witches that are starting to lose their bloodline, and also something that feels like a very scary version of Hogwarts from the “Harry Potter” books:

“Over 300 years have passed since the turbulent days of the Salem witch trials and those who managed to escape are now facing extinction. Mysterious attacks have been escalating against their kind and young girls are being sent away to a special school in New Orleans to learn how to protect themselves. Wrapped up in the turmoil is new arrival, Zoe (Taissa Farmiga), who is harboring a terrifying secret of her own. Alarmed by the recent aggression, Fiona (Jessica Lange), the long-absent Supreme, sweeps back into town, determined to protect the Coven and hell-bent on decimating anyone who gets in her way.”

This description does also give us a little bit of a suggestion as to why the Fiona character has been described as one of the more wicked characters on the show. She is sure to be deadly, frightening, and a force to be reckoned with all of the same time. Kathy Bates is going to play another powerful character on this show, and while we don’t know if she is a witch per se, she will be someone that Lange will have her hands full dealing with.

All of this information is certainly more than we have been receiving from some of the teasers for the show as of late, even if it is not anywhere near as visually mind-numbing. But does it make you more excited for the season? Be sure to share your thoughts below!
