Comedy Central Roast of James Franco takes; Seth Rogen, Jeff Ross deliver zingers
While almost everyone this weekend was talking at great lengths all about the MTV Video Music Awards, there was also another event that was surely capturing the attention of many comedy nuts: The taping of the Comedy Central Roast of James Franco, which will air on the network this coming weekend.
We’re not someone who really likes to spoil much comedy before it happens, so we’re just going to share a pair of jokes that were handed down over the course of the night, almost with one other piece of information that some people seem to always be interested in for whatever reason.
1. This “piece of information’ is the outfit that Jeff Ross wears per every roast, since he always changes it up based on the occasion. In the past, he has come as a Gadhafi and Jerry Sandusky, but this time around, he came as James Franco’s character from “Spring Breakers,” and had four women in bikinis / sky masks join him on the red carpet.
2. This joke (per The Wrap) by Seth Rogen about Franco: “He once told me he worked for 36 hours straight, which I didn’t believe. The straight part, of course.”
3. This joke by Ross about Jonah Hill, who was a member of the dais this time: “Jonah Hill was going to be in the last Transformers movie but they cut the role of the car that transformed into a giant [a-hole] after it was nominated for an Oscar.”
If you want to take a look at the full roster from the night, including some surprise members of the dais, be sure to click here. We do really like the lineup this time around, and if you’re a fan of the Seth Rogen comedy circle, this is pretty much going to be must-watch TV.
