NBC’s ‘Grimm’ season 3 spoilers: Alexis Denisof reunites with ‘Angel’ boss

The latest -We’re sure that this is something that many were hoping to see for quite some time, but now, it’s official: Alexis Denisof is going to be reuniting with his former “Angel” boss in David Greenwalt for an upcoming arc on “Grimm” season 3.

So what sort of character is he going to end up playing? While some details surrounding the role are still under wraps, Denisof will take on the rather-lengthy role of Viktor Albert Wilhelm George Beckendorf, which we are hoping is not a name that is going to be repeated at its full length very much on the show. (Half of his character’s screen time could be used saying it.) The part is of the first cousin to James Frain’s Renald, and he is going to be quite the shrewd man.

Recently, some of Denisof’s credits have included multiple episodes of “How I Met Your Mother” (as Robin’s co-anchor Sandy Rivers), and also a starring role in the Joss Whedon film “Much Ado About Nothing.” Given just how substantial of an audience the man has when it comes to the genre world, this is a casting that NBC and “Grimm,” which is always in need of live viewers given that it airs in such a difficult timeslot Friday nights at 9:00 p.m. Eastern time.

The only sad news that comes out of this casting is that you do still have quite a long time to wait until the “Grimm” premiere, given that it is not going to air on the network until Friday, October 25. Don’t worry, though: We’ll have more news every step.
