‘NCIS: Los Angeles’ season 5 spoilers: Deeks and the great box mystery

For whatever reason, the mystery of the box is something that has become an obsession for “NCIS: Los Angeles” fans in the same way that murders and series-ending story arcs do for others, where there is a near-constant clamoring to find out more. While there are times when it would be very cool to know, there are also times where it feels almost like it is a Mr. Big – “Sex and the City” sort of mystery: No matter what is in there, there is almost absolutely no way that the contests can justify the ridiculous amount of hype that have been given to them.

Well, for now executive producer Shane Brennan is being coy about whether or not the contents of the box are going to be seeing the light of day this year; instead, he only offers up the following to Entertainment Weekly:

“I can absolutely that you will see the box in every episode, where Deeks left it. It’s still there. There may be a moment this season where — because of what he’s been through and because of the kiss and because of the delicate nature of the relationship between Kensi and Deeks — that Deeks gets that box down, and picks up those scissors, and maybe opens the box or maybe doesn’t.”

Regardless of whether or not the “box question” is answered this coming season, you have plenty of other things to look forward, including the story revolving around the kiss between Deeks and Kensi (which is enough on its own), and how he gets over the horrific things he went through in the finale.
